What is CRIPHASE?
Resource and Intervention Center
for Men Sexually Abused during their Childhood is an organization with
non lucrative goals helping men who were victims of traumas and who
want to free themselves of that heavy load in order to live a happier
life.
CRIPHASE is managed by
men who were sexually abused during their childhood for men who were
sexually abused in their childhood. Indeed, the Board of Directors is
composed of at least three men that have been sexually abused in their childhood and that have completed PHASE I out of a
total of seven. The remainder of the Board of Directors is composed of
one representative of our therapists, the general manager and
other members of the community that have a special interest in this cause. Therefore, the Board really understands the
difficulties and the specific needs of men who call upon the services
of the Center.
Our services are offered in
Montreal. However, we accept all men, without regard to their place of
residence. If you can come to the Center, you are welcome. If we cannot
help you, we will direct you towards resources suitable to your needs.
History
Phase groups – for men
sexually abused in their childhood – were born in 1996, with
the specific aim of helping men who wished to free themselves of the
aftermaths of the sexual abuse they suffered during their youth.
During the spring of 1997, a team
of volunteers founded CRIPHASE after deploring the lack of resources
and the deficiencies of the services already offered.
The aim
To meet the incessantly increasing
need of help and support from men who were sexually abused in their
childhood and who are trying to improve their personal and social
well-being.
CRIPHASE offers the following
PHASE support groups (for men sexually abused in their childhood):
Furthermore, some punctual
activities, such as thematic evenings, conferences, etc., are offered
from time to time.
