Je n'avais que onze ans
“I want to lift the mask to “unrape” me. I know that he will read me because sometimes he feels guilty. He says that he was “a little clumsy”. He only let out a little bit of sperm”. Sexually assaulted from the age of 11 by one of the educators in charge of his protection at the children resource center, Jacques Benoit breaks the silence to testify about his drama’s horror.

Book vibrating with authenticity written in the style of a diary, Je n’avais que onze ans is one more testimony showing that sexual abuse is an act of power and violence. The author also denounces the inaction of counsellors in respect of the aggressors’ denunciation.

I hope this book, filled with emotions and well-written, will encourage many youngsters to defend themselves adequately against deceptions instead of becoming a victim or an accomplice”.

Alice Miller, psychotherapist and author.
