Welcome to CRIPHASE, the Resource and Intervention Center for Men Sexually Abused during their Childhood.

One man out of six has been sexually abused in his childhood. You are not alone.

CRIPHASE is a non-for-profit community organization founded in March 1997. It was specifically created in order to help men who were victims of sexual abuse during their childhood.

The counsellors are professionals with a large experience and who possess a unique expertise of the consequences lived by adult men who were victims of sexual abuse during their childhood.

If you are an adult man (18 and over), who has been a victim of sexual abuse before the becoming an adult (from as far back as you can remember up to the age of 17), CRIPHASE can help you.

But we know how difficult taking the first step is.

If you think that you life in going to pieces, if you do not understand some of your reactions, if you have the distinct impression that you are making a mess of your life, if you find refuge in drugs, alcohol, sex, humour, games or any other compulsive activity and you keep asking yourself : “What is happening to me?”

If you have difficulties to:

• keep a relationship (friendly or intimate);
• remember your childhood;
• control you anger;
• trust;
• to be touched;
• to have fun;
• to say no.

If you feel:

• ashamed;
• inferior;
• anxious;
• insecure;
• judged;
• powerless;
• depressive;
• dirty;
• unaccepted by others.

Please know that these feelings are natural and normal survival strategies for a person who has been a victim of sexual abuse.

It takes courage to admit that we have been sexually abused during our childhood. Just reading these lines is a testimony of your courage. We congratulate you.

You are not alone and you do not have to live with this enormous weight on your shoulders all by yourself.
